Bodark Block B760 3.7" x 3.7" x 7" 3.4 lbs. This is a hefty block of aged and spalted Texas Bodark. It has the deep golden-orange of aged Bodark heartwood with the darker hues of spalting. Once you work with this block, the freshly exposed surfaces will deepen in color with light and air exposure. This block has been air-dried to 10-12% moisture content. There are several large cracks and some very interesting bark inclusions in this blank. It may be complex on the inside. We recommend stabilizing with CA glue as needed. This blank may be best suited for sharp tools and a skilled turner. |
