This is a very nice end-grain block of Texas Ebony. It is primarily the dark brown color of Texas Ebony heartwood, but includes numerous intra-grain bands of lighter brown colors. There is a beautiful figure of lighter colored sapwood on the back face.
There is minor checking in one corner that can be CA glued, if necessary (third photo). I see no cracks, checks or other significant flaws.
