Texas Ebony Block TE772 2.1" x 2.1" x 6.9" 1.2 lbs. This is an eye-catching spindle of Texas Ebony. It is about 70% the dark chocolate-brown of Texas Ebony heartwood and 30% the lighter honey-blonde of Texas Ebony sapwood. The grain is parallel to the long axis of the spindle. It has some very pretty figure in it at mid-block, which appears to be where several branches split apart. This piece has been air-dried to 10-12% moisture content. There are two hairline cracks on either end that might benefit from a bit of thin CA glue. |
