Texas Ebony Block TE-728 2.1" x 2.1" x 17.2" 3 lbs. This beautiful block of Texas Ebony is about 80% dark chocolate-brown of Texas Ebony heartwood and 20% lighter honey-blonde of Texas Ebony sapwood. The grain pattern is striking -- it swirls around several burl buds and sweeps the length of the block. There is crisp contrast between the heartwood and sapwood. The block has some complexity that is typical of Texas Ebony -- there are two branch voids (where a branch was encased in the tree but then fell out, leaving a bit of a hole). Also a crack that you may wish to CA glue. And a bit of bark/wane along one edge. I went a little "extra" with the photography. Be sure to scroll down so that you see below the first 3 photos.
