This is a large, very dark rift-sawn brown block of Texas Ebony. It is gorgeous. It is 95% the dark brown color of Texas Ebony heartwood, and it has the thinnest sliver of light-colored sapwood along the front left edge of the first photo.
I see no cracks, checks or other significant flaws.
