Mesquite Block M1194a 2.5" x 2.5" x 12" 2.3 lbs. This is a beautiful end-grain block of Texas-grown Mesquite. The color is the rich, reddish-brown of Mesquite heartwood with some creamy beige sapwood and dark-chocolate bark. The grain is mostly straight. There are some pretty burl buds that the grain bends around. This block has been fully air-dried to 10-12% moisture content. There are a couple of minor edge defects that will turn off when you bring this to round. One corner is chipped and one edge has a small sliver missing. See photos for closeups. |
