This is a beautiful end-grain block of burly Texas Honey Mesquite. It is mainly the classic reddish-brown of Mesquite heartwood but includes a small strip of yellow sapwood on one edge. The grain pattern varies from linear to a very attractive undulating pattern within and around a number of prominent Mesquite burl buds.
I see no cracks, checks or other significant flaws.
