|Mesquite Block M-751
2"x 2"x 12-3/4"
This is a very nice end-grain block of moderately burled Texas Honey Mesquite. It is mainly reddish-brown heartwood with small patch of yellow sapwood and brown bark on one end (top photo). The grain varies from linear to moderately complex to form a very attractive pattern. There are several burly buds that appear to extend through the blank (both photos) and a nice pattern of chatoyance in several areas.
There are two very small and minor cracks on one end (bottom photo), but I see no significant cracks, checks or structural flaws.
