This Texas Honey Mesquite board is the rich, reddish-brown of Mesquite heartwood, with less than 5% of the block being the lighter sapwood. The grain is strong and linear to gently curving. There is a very small patch of sapwood and a pocket of bark on the bottom of the front face (first photo).
I see no cracks, checks or other structural flaws.
