Huisache Board H-225
3-3/8" x 8" x 3/4"
3/4 lb.
This is another nice board of Texas Huisache. It is entirely the bright rosy/reddish-brown of Huisache heartwood with a very attractive linear to strongly-curving grain pattern. The end-grain pattern varies from quarter sawn to plane sawn.
There is a small and shallow, angular crack on one edge (bottom photo, lower right edge). Trimming of that side will reduce the width to ~3". A small open knot is also present on the back side (bottom photo), that could easily be infilled with sawdust and CA glue, epoxy or the like, if required. I see no other flaws.
Note - there is a slight angle to both cut ends of this board (say 2 to 3 degrees). Apparently, I did not have my bandsaw's miter gauge correctly aligned!
