This is a very attractive end-grain block of colorful Texas Huisache. It is entirely the bright rosy/reddish-brown of Huisache heartwood with a strong, swirling grain pattern that cascades around several branch buds.

The branch buds have some cracks that affect each.  See close-up photos for detailed view.  There are radial cracks spreading from the bud-center, and there are concentric ring cracks.  It will be a bit of a knotty challenge to turn!  You will likely want to stabilize prior to turning.
