Red Oak Block RO-6
3.7" x 3.8" x 6"
This is a very pretty-but-imperfect block of Texas Red Oak. It's got cracks along the length of one edge and overall is a bit misshapen from the drying process (it's rough sawn and air-dried). The color is a warm honey-brown. There is an intra-trunk branch about two-thirds of the way down the block that then intersects the corner shown in photos 2 and 3. The branch-trunk intersection sets up some very pretty swirls and patterns around it. In the rest of the block, the grain is fairly linear along length of the block.
