This is an attractive end-grain block of Texas Black Cherry. It is 100% light pinkish-brown heartwood.  It is rough-sawn, and there are surface ripples from the sawblade that will turn or plane-off readily. 

This is an imperfect piece.  There is a cross-grain crack running the length of the block and approximately 1” deep.  There is also a vug on the back face that was bird- or bug-created.  Price is discounted accordingly.
