Texas Ebony Block TE-528 1.9" x 2" x 19" 3.2 lbs. This is a quite pretty rift-sawn block of Texas Ebony. It is approximately 90% dark chocolate brown heartwood and 10% golden-yellow sapwood with light shading of grey spalting. The grain pattern is linear to gently-curving. There are several attractive branch buds in the heartwood. We've discounted this block because it has some unusual patterns of drying and cracking on one side, as well as a patch of bark inclusion on the opposite side. See photos. This may be a nice candidate for epoxy resin work. |
