Texas Ebony Knife Scales TE-733
0.5" x 1.7" x 14"
This is a set of cut pieces of Texas Ebony. They're intended for knife scales, and we've left them extra long so that you can select the best grain patterns for use in your knife making. This set is long enough to produce two 5" long sets of knife scales.
This set of knife scales is almost entirely Texas Ebony heartwood, which is a lustrous, dark-chocolate brown. There are a few accent spots of ivory-toned sapwood. Note that the heartwood on one piece has an open crack that you will want to fill with epoxy or otherwise stabilize. I've discounted the set because of this crack. The face opposite the crack is pristine, so you can get full use of this if you put care into the prep.
The Texas Ebony pieces are bookmatched, such that the pieces of wood are mirror images of each other. Each scale is 1/2" thick, so that the matched pair is just over 1" thick.
I take lots of photos, so please scroll down past the first three photos for additional images.
