This is a very nice end-grain block of our Purple Heart Eastern Red Cedar. The colors are essentially the deep reddish-purple but do include a single intragrain stripe and a small, isolated patch of creamy yellow. The grain pattern is strong and linear on the quarter-sawn faces but includes a more complex and attractive grain pattern on the plain-sawn faces (especially on the bottom photo).
I see no cracks, checks or other significant flaws.
