This is a nice uniform board of Texas-grown Black Walnut. It is all heartwood with a gently curving grain pattern. The colors are an overall medium brown with bands of darker-brown grain.

This piece has been air-dried to 10-12% moisture content. I see no cracks, checks, or other significant flaws. We have a set of these in inventory, so your piece will come from that batch.  It may not be exactly the one shown in the photos.
